Delivery rate
Delivered ÷ attempted (sent) messages; reflects acceptance by receiving servers and excludes bounces.
Delivery vs. Deliverability
Delivery (acceptance) means the receiving server accepted the message (inbox or spam). Deliverability (inbox placement) is where it lands after acceptance (inbox vs spam).
Disposable/temporary email address (DEA)
A short-lived email address used for privacy or temporary access; often treated as higher-risk in acquisition/validation.
DKIM
DomainKeys Identified Mail: a cryptographic signature added to emails and verified via a public key in DNS, helping prove integrity and authenticity; supports DMARC.
DMARC
Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance: a framework that uses SPF/DKIM alignment plus policy and reporting to reduce spoofing/phishing and improve trust.
DNS
Domain Name System: the distributed naming system that maps domains/hostnames to records (A, MX, TXT, CNAME, etc.) used by internet services.
DNS (Domain Name System)
The system that translates domain names into records used by services (e.g., MX, SPF, DKIM keys, CNAMEs)—often called the internet’s “phone book.”
DNS registrar/hosting provider
A provider that registers domains and offers DNS management tools (e.g., to create/update A, MX, TXT, CNAME records).
Domain
A registered internet name (e.g., example.com) used for websites and email identity.
Domain block
A delivery failure or filtering event driven by poor domain reputation or domain-based blocklisting.
